Theory of colour by Wassily Kandinsky

Wassily Kandinsky was an influential Russian painter and an art theorist (16 December 1866, Moscow, Russia – 13 December 1944, France). The painter was very famous for his abstract paintings and his theory of colour. 
Moreover, it is important to mention his huge fascination for classical music while he painted his artworks.

Autumn brainstorm

Last week, we talked about autumn and its characteristics: fruits, colours, animals, weather, clothes, among others. We learned different vocabulary related to this season and finally, the pupils did a brainstorm with all the ideas they got. These works are some examples...

WARM AND COLD COLOURS

STEPS:
1. Draw some circles with the compass (2 cm, 4cm, 6cm...).
2. Draw your left/right hand on it.
3. Use a black felt-tip pen to trace the lines.
4. Decide what should be painted in warm or cold colours (hand or circles).
5. Colour with wax crayons (warm: red, yellow, orange / cold: blue, purple, green).
6. Use a brush to varnish your artwork.

ART MATERIAL NEEDED:
- Compass
- Pencil and rubber.
- Ruler
- Wax Crayons
- Varnish
- Brush
