Autumn poem

Branches yellow, red and brown
colours floating to the ground.

A chilly wind will shake those leaves,
shake them right off of the trees.

I'll rake them into a great big pile,
them jump on top with a big smile!

Roy Lichtenstein: another pop art artist!

Roy Lichtenstein was an American pop artist best known for his boldly-colored parodies of comic strips and advertisements.

American artist Roy Lichtenstein was born in New York City on October 27, 1923, and grew up on Manhattan's Upper West Side. In the 1960s, Lichtenstein became a leading figure of the new Pop Art movement. Inspired by advertisements and comic strips, Lichtenstein's bright, graphic works parodied American popular culture and the art world itself. He died in New York City on September 29, 1997.

ART LESSON PLANNING: Onomatopoeia
  1. Create a comic balloon like Lichtenstein did.
  2. Draw a basic form, a star or a cloud, and cut it out (colored paper).
  3. Cut another cloud or star from a newspaper.
  4. Draw an action word (onomatopoeia) on the white sheet and colour with felt-tips. Cut this word.
  5. Create composition and paste the parts of the artwork.
  6. Draw action stripes with black marker.

Esperem que us agradin!

Autumn is here!

These are the drawings that 6th graders have made. They've used coloured pencils on black cartolina papers to highlight the autumn colours.
Even, they've worked in groups in order to make a mind map (or brainstorm project), in which they have written down all the vocabulary worked previously in class.

The colour wheel

Hi pupils!
Click on the photos bellow and discover the new colours you can get if you mix the primary or the secondary ones. After that, try to draw a colour wheel using your compas and colour it in all the colours (primary, secondary and tertiary).

AUTUMN (6th grade)

It's autumn time! Leaves are falling, it's raining all the time, ... and 6th graders learn about autumn fruits and colours.

They drew and coloured different fruit: pumpkins, chestnuts, figs,... on black thin cardboard using autumn colous.

PRIMARY AND SECONDARY COLOURS (6th grade)

We started the first Arts & Crafts lessons talking about primary and secondary colours. Pupils mixed colours on different circles drawn by themselves.

Afterwards they mixed colours on these great lizards!
