Joan Miró (surrealism)

During all January and February, in fifth grade students have learned about Joan Miro's life, his paintings, his most famous sculptures, among others. Pupils could tell you many things about this Surrealist painter! For example: In his paintings there are lots of stars, eyes, moons, lines, primary colours. He was a Catalan painter. He had the ceiling of his bedroom painted of stars. His most famous sculpture is "Dona i Ocell", which is located in Barcelona. All his work was based on SURREALISM, which is art that tries to create reality without the intention of people's comprehension. Each child has created a work keeping in mind all the principal characteristics of the painter. In the second part of the didactic unit, students have been painting using the computers. The photos bellow show us that using the mouse and the computer is not as easy as using the pencil or the felt-tips
